Bruce Gosser

Bruce Gosser is the founder and Principal of Gosser Group LLC. During his health care career of 30-plus years, Bruce has worked extensively on both payer and provider sectors. In 2009, he has assembled a highly capable team to address business development and strategy needs of health plans, employers, physicians, hospitals and other providers.

Previously, Bruce has served as General Manager/VP, HealthLink, a WellPoint, Inc. company. He was also VP Managed Care for BJC Health System and led the start-up of a Medicaid and commercial health plan throughout Kansas. In 1983, Bruce was the first employee of HealthLink, Inc., a provider-sponsored health plan.
Bruce has studied the dynamics of an emerging health reform bill in Congress and sees the potential for profound change in care delivery through realigning financial incentives:

"When providers are paid to deliver health care services, they focus on what they can do to treat the patient. When providers are paid to keep people healthy, their focus will become more strategic.” Bundled payments for post-acute care would encourage providers to develop a streamlined process or pathways for patients to return to health. Proactive providers would build safeguards along the pathways to support patients who falter and help them get back on track.
